HIGHLIGHTS:
Leveraging Franchisee Perspectives for Business Development – Gavin Densmore
“With the home care agents I started from scratch. And God bless me because it was over $1,000,000 a year. It was putting off a quarter of $1,000,000 to us. I had put my mother-in-law in business back in 2003 and she had 10 years, ex mother-in-law, she had 10 years of Home care agency owner experience. So, I figure the ex taking over the agency, not only is it gonna provide her income but it’s a job that she can do. And my ex mother-in-law helped her coach through it. Right? I gotta reinvent myself. So what’s my next act? And It’s okay. So I ran a home care agency for 18 years. I eat, sleep, and breathe caring for seniors in their homes. I know it, And we do it really well. I love the teaching aspect of it. My father is a retired professor of marketing.”
The Senior Care Industry: Creating Opportunities for Employees, Business Owners, and Clients – Gavin Densmore
“In this case, being a senior care agency owner and caring for our aging population, Tom Brokaw got it right. It truly is the greatest generation. Don’t be confused about that. These are 8% off. But We have actually a win-win situation. The client is staying at home safely where they want to be, because nobody wants to go into a nursing home. You read the Wall Street Journal, nursing home admissions are down because they can’t find employees. The employees don’t wanna go to work there because that’s where COVID got started, and 150,000 Seniors died in nursing homes. They don’t wanna go to nursing.
They wanna stay at home. They wanna age in place. The client wins. The employee has A steady, reliable paycheck. We’re taking them. We’re putting them to work. We’re giving them a loving, rewarding career. They’ve got A reliable paycheck that they can count on in today’s economy, and the employee wins. The agency owner, Myself in the past, my franchisees, and other home care agency owners out there are making a fair and reasonable profit. It’s a win-win situation. The business owner wins, the employee wins, and most importantly, the client is safe at home where they want to be. So, yeah, I think it’s a business to get into, and I think senior care is a great industry to be in.”
