In 1985, my mom started Square One Skateboards in Topeka after spotting one problem: Tony Hawk signature boards selling for a 50% markup over mail-order prices. For five years, her business thrived selling those same boards at fair prices.

Then life happened.

Dad lost his job, and my parents faced a harsh truth: their business had zero value beyond inventory despite years of hard work. They sold the remaining stock to a bike shop and walked away with nothing.

That lesson never left me.

As a three-time agency owner, I discovered the same painful truth about my own business in 2023: despite years of success, it was worthless without me in it.

This revelation became my mission: helping burnt-out agency owners fall back in love with what they've built while creating something with lasting value.

Having made almost every mistake myself, I now guide others to build agencies they enjoy today that will be of genuine worth tomorrow.
